Minimal brutalist sphere pendant made of granite texture Jesmonite on an adjustable cord with macramé finish. Jesmonite is an eco-friendly water based material, free of solvents and VOC, therefore a great option for a regular concrete cast.

These timeless architectural geometric pieces are created for people with attention to fine details and minimal style that can be implemented in any occasion.
Irregularities and variation in color, shape, size and air bubbles holes are not fault but they are rather beautiful imperfections that make each piece unique, so each piece slightly differs from the piece on the photograph. The unfinished look is what gives the cast objects its charm and simplicity in the raw ‘beton brut’ material.

All the pieces are designed and manufactured in our small home studio in Athens. Each piece has been cast and sanded with great care and attention, in separate steps that take several days to be finished. These pieces look like they have been fabricated and mass made due to their industrial style and the materials used, however no 3D printer or any machinery were used. Each piece is individually hand poured with the help of a mold and is handcrafted in several steps in small batch.

Each Jesmonite piece resembles concrete when taken from the mold. We only use Jesmonite AC730, a much thicker granulated version of a regular Jesmonite (liquid to powder ratio 1:5) with a special finish. In order to get rid of the shiny surface and make the stone finish, the pendant is treated with acid etch and the mixture of vinegar, salt and baking soda, and soaked in water. The process is repeated up to five times or until the surface looks rough and textured.

Finally, the pendant is protected with JesmoniteAC730 Flexiguard sealer to provide resistance against environmental contaminants and to give matt finish. Flexiguard sealer is specifically designed to coat porous substrates in Jesmonite AC730 and to offer protection against exhaustion and dirt. Once applied, a protective layer less than 100 nm thick is bonded to the inner pores of the substrate to leave a smooth, anti-stain surface layer. The cord is closed with knitted macramé knots so it is adjustable, finished with the two beads that you can simply remove if you cut the cord and burn the edges again. The macramé cord edges are burned so that they do not untangle, so please note the ending finishes are darker in color due to that reason.
Although Jesmonite is strong, it is not unbreakable - if dropped on a hard surface, it may chip, crack or shatter, so please treat it gently. It is water resistant so you can clean it with soap and water together with the cord.
Great attention was given to packaging that is made in Greece. Each design comes carefully packed in a kraft box packaging with a small pouch bag, each individually stamped with a handmade logo.
