// INSPIRATION //

Our inspiration is the city of Athens, Greece; the timeless city of extremes where marble collides with concrete but still they fit together so closely. The city of vibrant energy and potency of the gods. Enjoying the sunsets over the brutalist architecture, monochrome scenery gets a touch of color but still retains the untamed beauty. 

//NAME//

Hedone is a daughter of Eros (love) and Psyche (soul), one of the most beautiful (and happy ending) love stories in Greek mythology, showing true love can overcome many obstacles. Hedone was a personification of pleasures and delight, her responsibility was to remind both gods and mortals of the joys of existence, the moments of happiness that make life worth living. Whether it was the pleasure derived from love, food, art, or any other form, Hedone was there, ensuring that such moments were cherished and celebrated. The term “hedonism,” which denotes the pursuit of pleasure, is derived from Hedone’s name (https://olympioi.com/demigods/hedone).

// ANALITICALLY //

Our products are created in slow fashion and in small batch, with the focus on sustainability. Our raw materials are sourced mainly from Greece and Europe, and we focus on working with smaller producers and distributors to support other small businesses.

I started experimenting with concrete and gypsum when I first moved to Athens ten years ago. The fascination grew bigger during my Interior Architecture and Design studies at School of Applied Arts and Culture.

My mother Melita got back to knitting after she retired, as she finally managed to find time for her greatest passion she has left long time ago.

// MATERIALS //
there are two main sustainable materials used: plaster and Jesmonite.
- I use only natural artist plaster, fully made from Greek natural gypsum, as it is one of the most environmentally friendly binders made from calcium sulfate (CaSO4).
- Jesmonite is an eco-friendly water based resin, solvent free and free of VOC's. 

All the knit and crochet items are entirely made Melita, the mother. We use wool, alpaca, mohair and hand dyed cotton. The yarn is made by 100% combed cotton or wool with an Oeko-Tex® certification. Our products are created in slow fashion and in small batch with the focus on sustainability.

// SKINCARE BRAND VALUES //

MATIWITHMEbody products are the result of long experimenting with the natural ingredients to cure my various skin conditions such as dermatitis, seborrhea and various food allergies.

// OUR PRODUCTS ARE FREE FROM //
parabens, phthalates, silicone, petroleum products (petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin wax), propelyne & butelyne glycol, PEGs, sulfates (SLS, SLES), artificial dyes, and synthetic fragrances.

The ingredients come from certified organic plants farmed by independent groups. In the dry maceration (infusion) process, we use only dried plants that are available in Greece, certified and organically sourced.
In our packaging, we use kraft paper made in Greece from recycled paper and cardboard boxes, and the filling is used with scrap paper.
